In a very novel fundraising exercise Catriona Marie Byrne, Joe Kinahan & Oisin Weitzman raised €550 for Mental Health Care in St. Vincent’s. All three are Music students in Maynooth University.

They organised a series of music lessons in schools in Castleknock and Maynooth, followed by a concert.  Both were enthusiastically received and the contribution to the care in the hospital is much appreciated.

Pictured are Joe & Catriona Marie presenting proceeds to John Hickey.

In a further demonstration of the esteem in which Karen Jackson was held in her community in Cavan, Martin O’Reilly organised a truly novel competition. Martin conducted a competition on his Facebook page and the winner would receive a framed aerial photograph. Interestingly the photograph was enabled by a drone.

Martin raised €400 for the Liver Unit in St. Vincent’s in Karen’s memory from this competition.

    Well done and sincere thanks

  7. John Cullen Memorial fundraising 2019

Once again the family of John Cullen had a marvellous fundraising, in his memory, in support of Pancreatic Cancer Care & Research.

A golf day was held at Naas Golf Club followed by a Social Evening in O’Neill’s in Maynooth. In addition to the local effort, many of John’s family came from Scotland to support the events.

The social evening included a very successful auction. Many others helped with donations.

In total the activities raised almost €5,000 for this vital medical area.

On behalf of our patients we are very grateful to those who contributed items for auction including, Baltray Golf Club, Ballyliffin Golf Club, Beaverstown Golf Club, Palmerstown House Golf Club, Fota Island Resort and Celtic Football club. We appreciate the assistance given by the Officers and staff of Naas Golf Club and also would like to thank Joe Brennan from OMC Technologies for sponsoring the golf prizes on the day.

We cannot overstate our gratitude to Michelle Cullen and Barry Spillane for making this such a vital contribution to dealing with Pancreatic Cancer bring the total they have raised over the years to €15,000.

    Thank you.

The picture shows Michelle presenting the trophy to Niall Wynne who was part of the wining team on the day of Paudie O’Connor, Niall Wynne, Caoimhin Tuite and Ciaran Wynne.

Regular readers will be very familiar with Christine Kearney and her friends Catherine and Katie, who for over ten years, have organised two raffles each year to fundraise for Breast Cancer in St. Vincent’s.

The display of prizes and their fancy dress on the day, are always spectacular and in addition to the substantial funds they raise, they also bring a wonderful atmosphere to the hospital.

This year’s Halloween Raffle raised €3,775.75 and now brings to almost €47,000 Christine’s contribution to this vital medical area.

On behalf of our patients, Thank You Chris.
