The Carrickmacross Baptist Church Community had a Family Fun day at the Woodlands Christian Centre on July 9th 2016 to fundraise for the Liver Transplant Unit in St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Despite the unseasonably bad weather, the event raised almost €1,000 for this most worthy cause.

The creativity of Rer. Colin Creighton, Anne Daly and the organising committee overcame the challenges of the weather to ensure that everyone had an enjoyable day.

On behalf of our patients we are truly grateful for this fantastic support.

The Garden of Ireland Vintage Car Club held the Tom Kennedy Annual Memorial Rally in July.

The rally commemorates Tom Kennedy, a member and great friend of the Car Club.

This year’s event had a record number of vintage cars attending from across the British Isles.  As always, the rally supports fundraising for St. Anne’s Cancer Care in St. Vincent’s University Hospital and raised €2,000.  This brings to a total of almost €10,000 the contribution of the club to a vital area of medical care.

We are really grateful on behalf of our patients, for the wonderful ongoing support of the Club Committee and friends, and of course Tom’s family.

  7. Help make a difference in the future, leave a legacy

Best Will Week 2016 starts on 31st October.

This Best Will Week, St. Vincent’s Foundation and the other 70 charities of the My Legacy group, asks you to continue to support us by making or updating your will and, once family and friends have been looked after, to include a legacy gift to St. Vincent’s Hospital.  It can be large or small but it will make a difference to supporting patient care and research in St. Vincent’s in the future.

Mylegacy.ie was established in 2003 by a small group of Irish charities who knew at first hand the impact a legacy or bequest can have on the work of a charity and yet research shows only 35% of people living in Ireland have made a will.  Since then, Mylegacy.ie has grown to an umbrella group of over 70 Irish charities who work together to promote the importance of making a will and to ask people to consider leaving a legacy to a favourite charity once all other important personal decisions have been made.

You can learn more about leaving a gift to St. Vincent’s Foundation and find a local participating solicitor for Best Will Week online at www.mylegacy.ie  If you want to contact St. Vincent’s in relation to a legacy gift, please call us on 01-2215065.

Inspired by Philip Hore and his family from County Wexford, Killinick Harriers held a series of events in December last for St. Anne’s Oncology Day Care Ward in St. Vincent’s.

Philip recently called in to present proceeds of €22,000 to St. Vincent’s Foundation (see presentation photo below).

In addition to this wonderful contribution to St. Vincent’s, this event raised almost €26,000 for the Cancer Clinical Research Trust.
