2024 Lambay Christmas Lights appeal for Colorectal Cancer care and research
Leave a CommentCiara Crangle from Ballybrack, Co. Dublin, along with her friends and neighbours once again organised a Christmas lights fundraising event. Following the success of similar events in Christmas 2022 and Christmas 2023, Ciara surpassed previous results and raised an outstanding amount of €3,165.90 for Colorectal Cancer patient care and research here in St. Vincent’s. This brings Ciara’s total over the last three years to over €8,300.
Ciara and one of her main sponsors, Ben Stapleton recently called in to present their proceeds.

Art Raffle Fundraiser in Memory of Abigail Nangle
Leave a CommentIn memory of her dear friend Abigail Nangle R.I.P., Aoife Magee organised an Art Raffle in December last and set up an iDonate Raffle page.
As Aoife explained on her fundraising page “Everyone who knew Abigail will remember her warmth, kindness and sense of humour. Many of you will have worked with her when she was a rigger and comp artist at Boulder, Daily Madness and Treehouse Republic. I thought an art raffle would be a fitting tribute to Abigail, who was so creative and loved art.”. Abigail’s family had specifically requested that any funds raised would go to the Liver Unit in St. Vincent’s.
Aoife recently called in to present the proceeds of €3,065 for the Liver Unit.
We are most grateful to Aoife and all who supported this raffle, for this fantastic fundraising for our Liver Unit.

Darts Competition Raffle for the Liver Unit
Leave a CommentClaire McLaughlin from County Donegal, a liver transplant recipient in 2019, was pleasantly surprised when her neighbours and friends organised a fundraiser for the Liver Unit in St. Vincent’s.
In this great effort, they raised a total of €2,455 which is a wonderful contribution to this key medical area.

Movember Fundraising for Breast Cancer
Leave a CommentIn a super follow-on to the terrific Pink Day event in Dunnes Stores in Cornelscourt at the end of October, in support of Hazel Bracks fundraising, Hazel’s family took up the challenge of Movember.
Her brother Jonathan and her nephew Luke grew their moustaches throughout the month of November. In the process they raised almost €1,400 for the same cause – Breast Cancer in St. Vincent’s.
We are really grateful to Jonathan and Luke for this support and the great outcome as we, of course, are to Hazel for all she has done for St. Vincent’s.

Dublin Marathon 2024 – fundraising by Keith McConnon
Leave a CommentAs a former patient of St. Vincent’s, Keith McConnon has often expressed his gratitude for the care he received and for his recovery.
He decided to enter the Dublin Marathon for 2024. Having completed this extremely arduous undertaking, Keith raised €7,530 for St Vincent’s.
We are so grateful to him and in awe of his commitment.

2024 Pan Can Golf Classic for Pancreatic Cancer
Leave a CommentIn 2023 Liam Holland and Ray McElhinney organised a golf classic in Blainroe Golf Club to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer in St Vincent’s. The event was such a great success both financially and as an enjoyable day, that Liam and Ray repeated the fundraiser this year. Again it was a resounding achievement raising €11,500 for this most important cause. It is a great tribute to their organisational ability and to their generosity.
