The Big Chop for Pancreatic Cancer

19/04/2021

Ruth Byrne a young doctor from Dalkey, Co. Dublin has been growing out her hair for the last 18 months with the intention to cut off 14 inches of for the Rapunzel Foundation. The Rapunzel Foundation is a charity based in Ireland that helps to make wigs for children and adults with longterm hair loss, such as alopecia.

Ruth generously decided to also use the opportunity to fundraise for a very important cause that is close to her heart. She chose to raise money for pancreatic cancer research and care here in St. Vincent’s. Last year Ruth spent 3 months working in the National Centre for Pancreatic Cancer which is in St. Vincent’s.

We are most grateful to Ruth and her supporters for contributing a fantastic total of €6,040 for Pancreatic Cancer Research, from her “Big Chop” fundraiser
